The first official Pokemon GO real-world just started and there are thousands of Pokemon GO trainers gathered in Grant Park. There are lots of scheduled plans in the event, but the activities are not limited to players who are in the location. In fact, all trainers around the world can still participate the event.
Pokemon GO Chicago Fest Task
As of today, the first challenged announced is the “Catch Challenges” where players at the Grant are in charge of determining the types of bonuses that the trainers will receive after the event. This includes the if the players catch a Leaf-type Pokemon for a Stardust, Fire-type Pokemon for a candy and more.
Just like what I’ve said, all trainers around the world can participate this event. But compared to the trainers in the Grant Park, everyone is in charge to catch as many Pokemon as possible. This is to determine how long those bonuses will last and at the same time meet the total requirement of catch to unlock the Legendary Pokemon. As of now, we still don’t have any hint the quota required to achieve the bronze, silver and gold tiers.
If you’re not living around Chicago, we recommend looking for a locally managed Pokemon GO events. Joining a Pokemon GO groups is one of the best ways to connect with the other trainers in your area. In my case, I’ve been seeing some mini Pokemon GO event here in Singapore.
In addition to the information above, Niantic also revealed the time to catch Pokemon that will be counted during the event. They are 11:00 AM – 11:30, 1:00 PM – 1:30 and 3 PM – 3:30. Watch the live stream of the Chicago Fest in Grant Park from here.
